Based in Silicon Valley, Dr. Burton Lee lectures and conducts research on European Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Stanford School of Engineering. Burton concurrently serves as Managing Director of Innovarium Ventures, a financial, technical and strategic senior advisory services firm with tech startup, angel investor, venture capital fund, university, corporate, industry cluster, and national | regional government clients in Europe, Latin America and the USA. During 2009-2010, he served as the sole non-Irish member of Ireland’s national Innovation Taskforce, appointed by Prime Minister Brian Cowen. As a recognized expert on European and Silicon Valley innovation ecosystems who brings unconventional approaches to the development and assessment of innovation policy and economics, Burton is a startup Mentor at SeedCamp (London), Innovation Center Denmark Silicon Valley, and Startup Wise Guys (Estonia); is a member of the Advisory Board of GrowVC, a leading equity crowdfunding platform; and serves as an SBIR reviewer for the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health in Washington DC.
